Wow it was sooo good to hear from so many of my family and friends
this week :) Made my day and I hope I can get to writing you guys
back. You all are definately in my prayers, It was hard to hear about
the tough things everyone is going thru but I pray my guts out for you
all. (sorry if that was gross) You all are such example to me so
really only advice I can give is that it is so worth it in the end. As
I am out here I have many times felt the reality of this gospel. It is
so true!! like really. So know that the savior knows what your going
thru and that it will all be worth it so all we can do is carry on.:)
I have found that to be true out here on my mission. I know I pretty
much just right about all the goods cuz that is how I am but ya there
is for sure many times when I feel like this hard and that 2 years is
going to be a really long time.. but then as I decide to carry on I
have great experiences that seriously help me forget the hard things.
The little things make it worth it.
So ya that was soooooooo awesome that mary lou brought that food and
blankets for us. we were all soo grateful. we love food and that was
good food. Also the blanket is so comfy I seriously love and I am so
warm now it is great. I definately dont have problems sleeping out
here haha:) but ya sorry I couldnt come to the door, it actually is a
kind of funny story. I was planning on coming to the door but was a
little worried but like you guys said I thought it would be fine. but
in comp study like an hour before she came we read in the white
handbook and we just happened to be on the visiting family part in the
mission and it basically said not to talk to anyone related to you at
all, and then my trainer looked at me and asked ' what time is your
family coming again?" so ya I got the point.. haha you dont argue with
the white handbook. so we just decided they could go down and get the
stuff while I waited upstairs so we did that. But we really all were
so grateful.
but ya this week has been great in the missionary work. we worked
really hard and and it was difficult at times but we were blessed for
sure because we found 10 new investigators this week!!! 3 families and
some others. we had to give one family to the other elders and we
found both of the others yesterday. both from contacting them. a
couple weeks ago we randomly helped a family bring groceries in from
the car but only shared who we were and that is it. so we went back
last night and they let us in and we taught about the Restoration. I
had a cool experience with it because because I dont understand the
language very well I have to really pay attention to understand what
is going on so I pick up a lot on the body language and it was awesome
because at the beginning of the lesson they werent too interested in
us but listened and then as the lesson went on there countenance
literally changed and they were all in and like smiling and having a
ha moments it was great and they all accepted a soft baptismal invite
and commited to pray and know for themselves if it was true. I
honestly wanted to stand up half thru the lesson and shout for joy
because we had such a good day. and after me and my comp were talking
about how much we werent really feeling it today cuz we were super
tired and just wanted to be home but we pressed on and were so
blessed. ya and the other story is great as well basically elder pico
told me I needed pray and see what street we should go on that day I
did and we went there and basically nobody answered there door but we
street contacted a lady and set an appointment but forgot to get her
number so yesterday we went to visit her but the apartments are crazy
here and we didnt know where she lived and elder pico was determined
to find her so we knocked lieterally almost every door and couldnt
find her then some guy let us in who happened to be her husband and
didnt even know about the appointment. then she showed up and we
taught them and they are super cool too and ya it was awesome and they
want to meet again too. it is good stuff out here so dont worry about
me.
It is crazy tho cuz it doesnt even feel like its Christmas and there
is no snow either it just rains like everyday. but we had a christmas
party at the ward.. oh and guess what else... I am the Primary
Chorister for the primary program in our branch. It is awesome haha so
fun. I feel like mr. kruger when he leads moetab. so fun haha and
hispanic kids are the funniest ever but they are soo crazy if you
thought our neices and nephews are crazy you shoulds just see some of
these kids haha.kids are kids haha
oh and with the calling thing we can skype.. maybe and call for sure
but I will let you know next week for sure we can probably anytime in
the day if we dont have an appointment at that time. let me know in
the next email what is good for you all and we can probably set it up
we know a member with skype so i am pretty sure we will be able to. :)
The spanish is coming along. I am doing the best I can and ya that is
all I can do. anyways that was kind of random.. sorry
but Merry Christmas!! but dont have fun without me ... you know how I
feel about that haha.
Love you all! :)
