Hey family sounds like all is doing well back in Utah. That makes me really sad to hear about what happened to Mark Thorne. He has changed a lot of lives tho because of his testimony after the plane crash and now he can share the gospel with even more people :)
I am glad that you were able to get a new phone for 25 dollars that is good :) I saw a someones iphone lying on the side of the street cracked and all alone and I thought of your iphone... anyways that is really sweet that you can get a new one. Hey so is school almost over or how much do you have left. I pray for you everyday and I know the best will happen.
haha finally Chase and Paige are getting married.. just kidding that is way cool tho. Tell them congrats. and that I am mad they didnt send me an invitation haha.
So this week was another great week. It went by so fast I feel like I just emailed you so I dont really know what more to say right now. Truth is I might just send a quick email so that I can spend some time uploading some more pictures to send to you. I dont know if you received the last ones I sent. but yea nothing too crazy happened just another week of teaching the gospel. I dont know if I told you this but one thing that has been a struggle for me this transfer is that because my companion is a Native a lot of times in lessons it basically is just him and the investigator or the members talking and it gets a little frustrating. But as we talked about it and as I thought about it I realized that need to have more confidence and open my mouth and speak. That has been something I have really been focussing on this week and I have learned and improved a lot. I know that the promise is true that if we open our mouth God will fill it with the words he needs us to say. Last night I was teaching the plan of salvation and I opened my mouth and taught. I dont remember exactly what I said or taught but I remember thinking afterwards. "whoa, i didnt know that, that is really cool" I literally felt the spirit teach a principle that I didnt even know. It was cool.
but yeah oh guess what else, we found out yesterday that we will be moving this week to a house in Passaic. Our area will be getting sisters next transfer that will live where we do now and so we are moving :) and honestly there is a chance that I will be moving again in two weeks because it is transfers and I may get transfered. I hope not. but I will go wherever. Oh yeah and I heard about the new scriptures!! that is soo cool. I love the scriptures and so I am excited about these, except for the fact that I want them and I just bought new scriptures not to longago... :( but yes good news.
SO next week we have 3 baptisms. Dayanaras and then two others but theothers is a long story. basically they are already members but the first time they were baptized the person did not have the priesthood so that is definately a problem. SO now he has the priesthood and they will be baptized next week.
Que Mas??
Well I loved your scriptural thought it always gives me strength so Thank you. It is great being a missionary. This week I have been studying the Atonement. I actually started the Elder Bednar challenge and started reading the Book of Mormon with one focus,. That focus is to understand the Atonement. I am only in s2 nephi and I have learned a lot. I have learned how much the Atonement is not only for sins but to strengthen us through our trials. In fact the majority of the sciptures I have found so for speak of gaining strenght through the atonement. Christ experienced all and because of that he can strengthen us to do hard things. We just need to ask for his. We just need to trust in him. He will provide. Just like my sailboat says " Trust in the lord with all thine heart, and LEAN NOT UNTO THY OWN UNDERSTANDING" we cant do it by ourselves. But the savior can. We need him and he helps us as we trust. That is my favorite scipture and luckily it is on my finger and I can look at it every day and it is our mission pres them scripture. Coincidence? I think not :) The Gospel is real. I love you!
