Well hello everyone. It has just been another crazy week and a
half out here in Passaic. I dont even know what to say cuz it went so
fast and I cant remeber anything. Maybe I should bring my journal with
me next time I write you all. but as you can see I am not writing you
until today haha because this week we had Elder Koellicker from the
Seventy come for a mission tour to our mission. That was
on Monday, So this week our P day is today,
wednesday.
Yay haha It was another great experience to be able to hear from Elder
Koellicker, I learned A LOT about how to be a better missionary and how I
can truly do so. His wife also talked about building foundations. That
that is our job as missionaries, not necessarily to build big buildings
but to build the foundations of peoples testimony so that they never
fall away. Also she compared it to our missions and how they are
building our personal foundation for the rest or our life. It really hit
me because I have already seen that in my mission and it motivates me
even more to work harder and learn more so that is how I will be the
rest of my life. The spirit that was in this meeting was one of the
strongest if not the strongest spirits I have ever felt. There is no
doubt in my mind that the spirit was there and that he was there on
behalf of the Quormn of the 12 to testify of Jesus Christ and give us
the direction our mission needs. Another huge thing that stood out to me
was getting our new converts to the Temple and Family history. One stat
he gave us was that if we get recent converts into the Temple in 6
weeks or less to do baptisms and confirmations. 98% will never fall
away. They will have a spiritual experience there and know this work is
real. He talked about how when the Temple and family history is involved
there are a whole lot more missionaries working with them on the other
side of the veil. Missionaries like Alma, Ammon and Nephi. Who wouldnt
want them to teach. I dont know I could go on and on about how much I
learned but I know that if you all build your foundations through going
to the Temple, doing family history and reading from the Book of Mormon.
YOU WILL NEVER FALL AWAY. That was also the other promise he gave us.
That if you read 30 minutes in the Book of Mormon every day. You wont
fall away. really cool promises. :) but now on to other things haha.
So my week other than that has been really good. I am learning a
lot being a trainer. Elder Wood is great, sometimes his health struggles
and his anxiety is really rough on him. He never had the chance to go
home and take care of it like I did but he is here now and I have the
blessing of trying to help him the very best I can. It is hard
sometimes. But I have decided that i am just going to love him to death
and help build that foundation.:)
As for our investigators. Well Elder Wood talks to everyone and
there is like 500000 people in the park right by our house so we have
taught those people a lot and we are getting really good at street
contacting. The goal now is to get all those that we contacted and get
them to be investigators. So that is our goal this week:)
So it is getting pretty hot over here and humid.... I feel like I
hit a brick wall of heat everytime I walk outside. I like it tho, I got
the family genes and I love the sun and heat. O also last P day we didnt
wash our clothes and we didnt know we would have to wait until wednesday
to wash clothes again. So I have been scrimpin on clothes now that we
havent washed them in two and a half weeks..... I know.. I feel sick
everytime I get dressed. BUT we washed them today :) And I feel a lot
better haha.
Mom I am very excited to get your package that will be sweet ;) I
might even get it today.. I will have to go home and check after
this...That would make my pday if I got that today.
Well I dont really know que mas to say.
Dont have to much fun at Bear Lake without me haha.. just kidding have a great time! but dont use the boat ;)
