Letter 33:: 5/28/2013

Hello!  I am glad you are having a good old time in the best place ever. I know I always get real excited for summer. but dont worry. I am REALLY excited for the summer out here. It already is great. It is awesome because there are like 5000 people on the streets. So we meet some pretty sweet people. The only bad things is that some people dont know how to wear clothes. sometimes  feel like just yelling at them it honestly makes me frustrated. but I will try to stay calm haha.
  I am glad to hear that Braden and Mandy are okay in Oklahoma after that huge tornado. I dont know much about it except that it was bad and then everything else that you have told me. That is really cool that they were able to help a lot with the clean up. That is a really cool experience
The weather here has been interesting as well. Yes there were a lot of thunderstorms and it was actually freezing too. But the first storm was one of the funnes days on my mission. It wasnt too bad outside and we went to buy flowers for the Branch Presidents wife (so they both would love the missionaries)  we walked in got the flowers then as we were about to leave it started POURING like a lot, like the streets literally were flowing with streams and there were 3 flash flood warnings. The flower guy asked us if we wanted to stay until it stopped but we told him we had to go. He looked at us like we were crazy then we sprinted to the churchin the rain which was about 2 or 3 blocks to get there and then walked in literally drenched in rain and gave Pres. Sanchez the flowers for his wife. He loves us now ;) And it felt like we just went through a water park.
Also this week was really good. By the way I got your packages and I LOVE  THEM. Elder wood and I are both really grateful for the talks as well. SO Thank you so much!
We have been teaching a man named mitchell and his baptism is next week. When he was a child he fell from the 3rd floor so now he has some brain damage. But he is literally one of the funniest men ever and someone I will never forget. He has had interviews and is now ready to be baptized and he wants to so bad. He got mad at us because we had to push it back a week. It is really cool as well because his mom is catholic but she loves it when we come over and is always very thankful that we are there. She too is excited for mitchell to be baptized. We truly believe that one day she will know that is the step she needs to take.
Another cool thing that has happened this week. I dont know if you remeber Sherley. The 9 year old girl that we just baptized. Her mom is a recent convert and very strong in the church, also the nicest lady ever and the dad has been a member ever since he was young but has also been inactive ever since he was young. The miracle is that because of sherley's baptism he is returning back to church, And not just returning but coming back strong. right now the parents are seperated but he is working very hard to change his life and do what is right and yesterday they were all at church together. It made us SO happy to see life evidence of how the gospel blesses familes.
Well I got to go but know that the savior lives and loves us. He truly cares for each and every one of us and we can all change and become better> I have seen that so much this week. in the words of president Monson "we need to remember that men can change" it is cool and it is because of Christ :) Love you all Have a great memorial day! :)
Love Elder Tanner Boyer
